The following detailed table shows the latest voter registration for California, each legislative and congressional district, each county and the Board of Equalization.
The Secretary of State today released their latest voter registration data, using 2013 year-end totals. These closely match PDI counts, however our data is generated by each county separately, and 77% of our data has been obtained in the past 30 days. As a result, there could be some small discrepancies between the counts.
These counts include some items that will be important to political observers and candidates/consultants planning for the upcoming election, including:
- Raw Voter counts
- Partisanship Breakdown (Dem/Rep/NPP+Other)
- Likely Voter Groups, including a breakout for Permanent Absentee Voters, voters in our Medium-Propensity 14P3 Likely Voter Universe, who voted in the Primary and the number of Perfect Primary Voters (who have not missed voting in a primary in which they were eligible since 2006)
- Likely Voter breakdowns into DemPlus, RepPlus and Other. The “Plus” signifies that the voter is either a member of that partisanship, or acts like it. This uses data such as partisan donations and history of pulling a partisan ballot.
- New Registrants since the last General Election in 2012 by PAV and Partisanship, including the number that have been collected through the state’s Online Voter Registration and Motor Voter.
- Other information flagged includes the number of voters that are Homeowners, Political Donors and how many have email addresses in the PDI system.
- Finally, a “moved or dead” field shows how many voters have been flagged by Social Security records or National Change of Address – while these voters remain temporarily on the voter file, they are purged before PDI sends our data to clients.
The following provides these counts in a PDF and, since it is hard to read, the original Excel file from which this document was created.
