Election Day is here, and one last day for campaigns to try and prove Sac Bee Columnist Dan Walter’s 25% turnout prediction wrong. The raw voter turnout that has been processed and reported by the counties is 2.138 million. That’s relatively close to the 2.285 million ballots that were received by PDI on the eve of the 2012 election cycle.
The daily tracker of partisan returns shows some recovery among Dems and Reps from last week, but they are still well behind their share of their raw turnout rates for 2012 and a weighted 2010 model.
The daily count sheets provide for a deeper dive which can be particularly useful to those campaigns really sweating it out today.

But for a greater distraction today, we’ve got PDI’s AV returns info-graphic for all of California’s congressional districts. (Assembly/Senate versions could be working for the General, but will require a bit of additional GIS work.) For now, take a look at your favorite Congressional seat and how the AVs compare to the 2012 election in turnout, age, ethnicity, and, of course, partisanship and raw votes. All in one nifty infographic with a pull-down menu to pick your favorite district.
Please send along any feedback you have, and have a great and successful Election Day!
