Election Day GOTV can be one of the most important parts of a campaign.  Volunteers, staff and the candidate will work for months to court voters and identify supporters, but it is all for naught if voters don’t turn out.

Anyone who has seen The Candidate knows how GOTV was done in the 70s.  And, for the most part this is what campaigns still look like – dozens, sometimes hundreds of volunteers scouring the district to drop door hangers, knock doors, call and track voters as they get to the polls.

But times have changed. People are more transient, receiving information differently, they may not know their neighborhoods as well, or even know where their polling place is.

One of the greatest new products available from PDI is a tool to increase poll voter turnout and alert Absentee Voters where their late ballot can be dropped off on Election Day.  PDI can create for campaigns a map image for each voter that shows directions from their home to their polling place.  This can be put on mailpieces, door hangers or in an email.  These are thousands, or even hundreds of thousands, of unique maps – tailored to each voter and giving their personal directions.  This is available only through PDI and was used for several successful campaigns in 2012.

You can see an example from the first implementation of these map mailers here: Hansen Map Mailers 2012
